Master Plan and Renovation

University Club of Milwaukee

Master planning and renovation of this 18-hole private club in SE Wisconsin, designed by Tom Bendelow in 1921.  The Master Plan included an assessment of the entire golf course, design of a new practice facility, short range, and learning center (in partnership with the Marquette University Golf Team), restoration plan for all course bunkers, and a tee renovation plan including a new set of Forward tees.

Phase 1 of implementation saw the construction of a new 10-acre practice facility including a 4-hole short course, wedge range, putting and chipping greens. Work also necessitated the adjustment of three holes, including construction of an entirely new par 3 hole #12. This work was completed in partnership with Marquette University’s Golf Team, and received an ASGCA Design Excellence Award in 2019.

Recent work has centered around the experience of the 1st tee, practice green, and driving range to create more usable space and cohesive circulation throughout.
